Ceramic PCBs are based on a ceramic core. Commonly used ceramic cores are aluminum oxide (Al2O3), beryllium oxide (BeO), aluminum nitride (AlN), silicon carbide (SiC) and boron nitride (BN). The thermal conductivity of Al2O3 is 20 times that of FR-4, while the thermal conductivity of SiC is 20 times that of FR-4, and BN is the highest thermal conductivity ceramic substrate material for ceramic PCBs. They are very powerful at conducting heat while being good electrical insulators.


Characteristics of Ceramic Circuit Board PCB

1. The rigidity of the plate, the ordinary PCB is basically a chemical fiber material, which is limited by the environment, temperature, processing technology and other conditions, and its rigidity is far less than that of the ceramic substrate; the latter has strong thermal stability and a small thermal expansion coefficient, which can be used in more in harsh environments.

2. Heat dissipation performance, ceramic substrate has excellent heat dissipation performance, which is very suitable for working scenarios of high-power devices, while ordinary PCBs are currently subject to material technology, far less than ceramic materials.

3. Insulation performance, ceramic substrate has good insulation and high voltage resistance, which effectively protects personal safety and equipment.

4. The bonding force between the ceramic substrate and the copper foil is strong. Using the bonding technology, the copper foil will not fall off, which greatly improves the reliability of the board.
