How to perform extreme temperature test of PCB circuit board?
Sep 12, 2022
In the production process of the PCB circuit board, because the printed solder paste and the unsoldered PCB assembly board cannot fix the test end of the thermocouple, it is necessary to use the actual soldered product for temperature testing. So, how to conduct extreme temperature test of PCB board?

1. Select test points: According to the complexity of the PCB assembly board and the number of channels of the collector, select at least three or more representative temperature test points that can reflect the high, medium and low temperature on the PCB surface assembly board.
2. Fixed thermocouples: Solder the test ends of multiple thermocouples on the test points (solder points) with high-temperature solder. The solder on the original solder joints must be cleaned before welding; The test terminals are respectively glued to the positions of each temperature test point of the PCB.
3. Insert the other end of the thermocouple into 1, 2, 3... on the machine table. On the position of the jack, or plug it into the socket of the collector, be careful not to reverse the polarity.
4. Place the PCB assembly board on the tested surface on the conveyor chain/mesh belt at the entrance of the reflow soldering machine, and then start the KIC temperature curve test program.
5. With the running of the PCB, draw the real-time curve on the screen (when the device comes with KIC test software).
6. After the PCB runs through the cooling zone, pull the thermocouple wire and pull the PCB assembly board back. At this time, a test process is completed, and the complete temperature curve and peak temperature/schedule are displayed on the screen.
The above is about how to test the extreme temperature of the PCB circuit board. I hope it can help you.
