What is the difference between single-sided aluminum substrate and double-sided aluminum substrate processing technology
Jun 23, 2022
Aluminum substrate is a metal-based copper clad laminate with good heat dissipation function, which is mostly used in the LED industry. The single-sided aluminum substrate can only be pasted with LEDs on one side, with a single layer of wiring; the double-sided aluminum substrate can be pasted with LEDs on both sides, with two layers of wiring.
1. Compared with the single-sided aluminum substrate, the double-sided aluminum substrate has one more pressing process! But the price is expensive and the craftsmanship is very difficult!
2. The double-sided aluminum substrate needs to be drilled twice. Since it is not easy to directly plate copper on the aluminum surface, it is necessary to drill through the aluminum plate and coat a layer of resin on the aluminum surface.
The specific process: the first turning of the aluminum base--->pressing (fill the hole with resin)--->the second turning (concentric circles)--->electroplating......
3. Differences in the production process
Single-sided aluminum substrate: the aluminum plate is pre-treated to increase the thermal conductivity and insulating layer, and then copper foil is added.
Double-sided aluminum substrate: After the aluminum plate is machined, it is pre-treated and insulated in the hole, plus a double-sided high thermal conductivity insulating layer and double-sided copper foil. After high temperature and strong pressure molding, the machined pattern is transferred and then machined to form a double-sided aluminum substrate.
The above is the difference between single-sided aluminum substrate and double-sided aluminum substrate processing technology.
