High frequency printed circuit boards, whether rigid or flexible, provide faster signal flow rates and frequency ranges up to 100 GHz. High frequency PCBs have low dielectric constant (Dk), low dissipation factor (Df), and low levels of thermal expansion. They are often used in HDI technology. They are also widely used in high-speed communications, telecommunications and radio frequency microwave technology.

Features of high frequency PCB

1. The DK should be small and stable enough. Usually, the smaller the better. High DK may cause signal transmission delay.

2. DF should be small, which mainly affects the quality of signal transmission, and a smaller DF can correspondingly reduce signal loss.

3. The thermal expansion coefficient should be the same as the copper foil as much as possible, because the difference will cause the copper foil to separate when the temperature changes.

4. In a humid environment, the water absorption rate must be low, and the water absorption rate is high, which will affect DK and DF.

5. Heat resistance, chemical resistance, impact resistance and peeling resistance must be good.
