Why Do Circuit Boards Need To Be Painted?

The front and back sides of the pcb circuit are basically copper layers. In the production and manufacture of pcb circuits, whether the copper layer is manufactured by the variable cost rate or by the double-digit addition and subtraction method, the final result is a smooth and maintenance-free surface. Although the physical properties of copper are not as bright as aluminum, iron, magnesium, etc., under the premise of ice, pure copper and oxygen are very easy to be oxidized; considering the existence of co2 and water vapor in the air, all copper surfaces A redox reaction occurs rapidly upon contact with gas. Considering that the thickness of the copper layer in the pcb circuit is too thin, the copper after air oxidation will become an electrical quasi-stable state, which will greatly harm the electrical equipment characteristics of all pcb circuits.
In order to better block copper oxidation, to better separate the electric welding part of the pcb circuit from the non-electric welding part of the pcb circuit during electric welding, and to better maintain the surface of the pcb circuit, the technical engineers have created and invented some kind of unique Architectural Coatings. Such architectural coatings can be easily brushed on the surface of the pcb circuit, resulting in a protective layer thickness that must be thin, and blocking the contact of copper and gas. This layer of plating is called copper, and the raw material applied is solder mask.
